Strife and Creative Projects
Hello Beautiful Souls:
It's been a crazy week here at the homestead as we've been busy renovating the back area of our recording studio.
Soon we'll have an open air amphitheater where live bands and artists can strut their thing on stage, share their original music and entertain the masses.
Exciting!
As creative projects go, this week has been a non-stop demand to balance electrical estimates, install new ground pavers and make multiple decisions about construction questions I never thought existed.
If that wasn't enough, the gas company showed up mid-week and told us we had a gas leak on our property. So after thousands of unexpected dollars later, and a frantic couple of days wondering how I was going to take a hot shower, we finally resolved the issue. Whew!
Remember that when you are in the middle of creating something new - and all hell begins to break loose - spend a little time doing what feels good as you handle your life.
In times of mayhem, give back to yourself and dive into your art, as hard as that may seem.
Since I preach the importance of creative self-care, it was a good opportunity this week to see how I could best lessen my anxiety. Strategy: I got up earlier than usual, spent extra time journaling, did some yoga moves, drank more water, took B12 drops for energy and even grabbed a couple of naps along the way; and I also jumped into my creative expression when I could. By the end of the week, all those hours of self-care helped me tremendously to maintain some sense of composure. I'll be continuing the process this week too
Join me for my online course Song Journaling with a Full Heart. Only $149. This 7- week self study course is bound to spark your creative juices, help you soothe that impulse to write and move you along toward finishing some awesome songs.
I would love to see you there!
Until next time friends, stay strong, healthy and creative,
